Recruitment
SPF Principal Investigators and other supervisors are required to comply with the SPF Equal Employment Opportunity procedures for hiring Category A and B Employees. This is a result of the Sponsored Programs Foundation passing the threshold for the number of full-time employees, which qualifies the organization to be regulated by an affirmative action plan.
Full Time = 30-40 hrs./week (Category A)
Part Time = 20-29 hrs./week (Category B)
* Note Occasional Employees (Category D), Student Employees (Category C), & State-Side Employees (Category E) do not require a formal recruitment.
Changes to the hiring process for Category A and B employees will help to ensure that diversity is obtained and maintained amongst SPF employees. All such hiring decisions should be based on (1) individual merit, qualifications, and competence as they relate to the particular position, and (2) promotion of the principle of equal employment opportunity.
A checklist for PI’s hiring Category A and B Employees has been created to use when entering in to the hiring process. We expect all SPF Principal Investigators and other project supervisors to be in full compliance with this new hiring process.
